Draw No Bet Explained: Win, Draw, Loss and Settlement

How Draw No Bet Works: Returns, Pushes and Settlement Time

Contents

Draw No Bet (DNB) wins if your selected team wins, pushes if the match ends in a draw, and loses if your team loses. These outcomes are determined within the market’s specified settlement period. A push returns your stake; it is not a win, and your net result is zero.

You can select either the home or away team. In a three-way, or 1X2, market, 1 means a home win, X means a draw, and 2 means an away win. With DNB, you select one team, and a draw triggers a stake refund.

How much do you get back on a win, draw or loss?

For a hypothetical $100 stake at decimal odds of 1.80, a win returns $180.00, a draw returns $100.00, and a loss returns $0.00.

This is a worked example, not a real match or an available sportsbook offer. It assumes the DNB bet was accepted at 1.80 and settles on the result within its specified period. Monetary results are rounded to the nearest $0.01.

Selected team’s resultSettlementGross returnNet result
WinWinning bet$180.00+$80.00
DrawPush; stake refunded$100.00$0.00
LossLosing bet$0.00−$100.00

The gross return on a winning bet includes the original stake. The $180.00 return is therefore not $180.00 in profit: it consists of your $100.00 stake plus $80.00 in net profit.

Let S be the stake and O the accepted DNB decimal odds:

Win: gross return = S × O
Draw: gross return = S
Loss: gross return = 0

Net result = gross return − S
Net profit on a win = S × (O − 1)

In this example, 100 × 1.80 = 180.00, while net profit is 100 × (1.80 − 1) = 80.00. Use the DNB odds accepted for the bet, not the team’s win odds from a three-way market.

What should you check on the betslip?

Check the market, selected team and settlement period, along with the stake and odds. A bet on a team to win in regular time is not the same as a bet on that team to advance.

Before confirming a bet, review:

  1. Market name: Make sure it is draw no bet, rather than a standard match-winner or to-advance market.
  2. Selection: Check whether you have selected the home or away team.
  3. Period: Look for the stated settlement period, such as regular time, a particular half or another explicitly defined period.
  4. Odds and stake: Use the accepted DNB odds when calculating the return.

If the betslip does not make the treatment of extra time clear, consult the operator’s rules for that market. A team can advance after drawing in regular time plus stoppage time, so advancing and winning in regular time are different outcomes.

Does DraftKings draw no bet include extra time?

Under DraftKings’ official US soccer settlement help, the standard settlement period is regular time plus stoppage time, excluding extra time and penalty shootouts unless otherwise stated. A draw no bet selection pushes if that period ends in a draw.

Our direct screenshot of the official DraftKings US help passage, observed October 15, 2026. This is a rules page, not a betslip or betting offer.

The distinction is:

  • Stoppage time: Minutes added by the referee to regular time; these count.
  • Extra time: A separate period played after regular time; this does not count under the standard rule described above.

What if it is 1–1 after regular time but 2–1 after extra time?

A standard DraftKings DNB bet pushes if the score is 1–1 after regular time plus stoppage time, even if your selected team later wins 2–1 after extra time.

Our hypothetical diagram, not a real match or sportsbook screen: the standard DraftKings DNB settlement cutoff is the end of regular time plus stoppage time.

For the hypothetical $100 stake above, that means a $100.00 refund and a $0.00 net result. The later goal falls outside the settlement period. If the market explicitly specifies a different period, its stated terms apply instead.

The rules were checked on October 15, 2026. Betfair’s official football rules also describe a standard period of 90 minutes plus stoppage time, excluding extra time. This is a comparison of two operators’ rules, not a universal rule for every sportsbook.

How do you reproduce the calculation in ToolsGambling?

Open the Draw No Bet Calculator, enter the three 1X2 odds, select a team and enter your stake. To calculate returns using a specific DNB price, fill in the optional offered DNB odds field as well.

To reproduce the hypothetical example:

  1. Enter decimal odds of 2.10 for the home win, 3.30 for the draw and 3.60 for the away win.
  2. Select the home team.
  3. Select $ as the currency and enter a stake of 100.
  4. Enter 1.80 in the optional offered DNB odds field. For an actual accepted bet, use its accepted DNB odds.
  5. Compare the results with the table: a win returns $180.00, a draw returns $100.00, and a loss returns $0.00. The corresponding net results are +$80.00, $0.00 and −$100.00.

Our real English calculator UI screenshot using hypothetical inputs. It shows gross returns of $180/$100/$0, not a sportsbook offer or a placed bet.

The 1.80 price is supplied solely for this example. It does not establish that those odds are currently available or profitable.

What do the calculator’s fair odds mean?

The calculator’s no-vig fair odds are a model-derived price based on your 1X2 inputs, not a sportsbook offer or a proven probability.

For the home team in this example:

No-vig fair DNB odds =
(1 / 2.10 + 1 / 3.60) / (1 / 2.10)
= 1.5833…

The internal calculation uses 1.583, while the UI displays the fair odds rounded to 1.58. It does not display 1.583.

If you leave the optional offered DNB odds field blank, the calculator uses the model’s fair odds to calculate returns. To check returns for an accepted bet, enter that bet’s DNB odds instead.

The model does not predict a guaranteed outcome or promise profit. The $180.00 winning return in this guide uses the hypothetical 1.80 price, not the model-derived fair odds.

How does DNB compare with Asian Handicap 0 and Double Chance?

Asian Handicap 0 produces the same win, push and loss outcomes as DNB when the settlement period and market terms match. Prices may still differ, so check the terms as well as the market name. See the Asian Handicap guide for other handicap lines.

Double Chance treats a draw differently:

  • Home DNB: A home win wins, a draw pushes, and an away win loses.
  • Double Chance 1X: A home win or draw wins; an away win loses.
  • Double Chance X2: An away win or draw wins; a home win loses.
  • Standard home- or away-win bet: A draw loses.

You can use the Double Chance Calculator for a separate comparison. The key distinction is that a draw on DNB returns your stake without net profit, whereas a draw wins a 1X or X2 Double Chance bet.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

No. You can select the home or away team if the sportsbook offers that selection. A win or loss is determined from your selected team’s perspective, while a draw in the specified settlement period results in a push.

Not by themselves. Decimal odds of 1.80 determine the return on a winning bet, not a proven probability of victory. Draw no bet also has a separate possibility of a push if the match ends in a draw.

No. It illustrates one US operator’s rules, not availability in every state or jurisdiction. Check availability and market terms with your chosen operator.
