Editorial Policy
How we research, write, verify, update and disclose. The standards every page on ToolsGambling is held to.
Our mission
ToolsGambling exists to put mathematics on the player's side. Every calculator, article, and review is built to give the user real numbers — not marketing claims, not affiliate copy dressed as analysis. If a tool can't be supported by a verifiable formula, it doesn't ship. If a partner offer can't be checked against published terms, we don't recommend it.
We do not write content to please bookmakers, casinos, or poker rooms. We write to give a player a reason to trust a number before they stake real money on it.
Review & fact-check process
Every article goes through a four-stage process before publishing:
- Research — primary sources, academic papers, regulator filings, official rule books.
- Math verification — every formula is reproduced from a published source and tested against known reference values.
- Editorial review — claims are spot-checked against the cited source. Speculation, hype, and unverifiable claims are removed.
- Pre-publish QA — internal links, schema markup, calculator outputs, and translation parity are validated.
Any change to a published article is logged in the updatedAt field and re-validated.
Sources we use
We cite from primary, verifiable sources only:
- Academic papers (Kelly 1956, Thorp 1960s blackjack research, modern probability literature)
- Regulator publications (UKGC, MGA, NJDGE, Curaçao GCB game certification reports)
- Operator official rule books and paytables
- Bookmaker terms & conditions, retrieved with timestamp
- Independent testing labs (eCOGRA, GLI, iTech Labs) when their reports are publicly accessible
We do not cite affiliate content, screenshots without source URLs, or unverifiable forum posts as fact.
Update & freshness policy
Content has a defined lifecycle:
- Calculators — formulas are immutable; UI and explanatory copy are reviewed every 6 months.
- Strategy articles — reviewed every 6-12 months for math accuracy and rule changes.
- Tax/legal articles — reviewed every 6 months and immediately on any reported regulatory change.
- Partner reviews — terms are spot-checked monthly; full reviews refreshed quarterly.
The updatedAt timestamp at the top of every article is real. If we re-review and find no change is needed, we do not bump the date — we don't fake freshness.
Corrections
If you find an error — wrong formula, outdated rule, broken link, miscalculated probability — email vei96rus@gmail.com. We respond within 48 hours. Material corrections (anything that changes a recommendation, a probability, or a payout) are logged inline at the bottom of the affected article with a date.
We do not silently edit articles to hide mistakes. Visible corrections build trust; hidden ones destroy it.
Editorial independence
Affiliate partners do not get pre-publish review of articles. They cannot pay for placement, ratings, or removal of negative coverage. The math is the math regardless of the brand.
If a partner has a worse RTP, slower payouts, or restrictive terms, we say so — even when they are paying us a revenue share.
Affiliate disclosure
ToolsGambling earns commission when readers click outbound links to operator partners and subsequently sign up. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" as required by Google. We do not use cloaking to hide affiliate intent.
Free calculators, articles, and the glossary are funded by these partnerships. This funding model never influences which tool gives what number, or which operator gets a higher rating than another. Trust scores are derived from RTP, payout speed, license, and operator history — not from commission rate.
Responsible gambling
Gambling carries real financial and psychological risk. We do not target self-identified problem gamblers, and we display the gambling-age disclaimer (18+ / 21+ by jurisdiction) on every page. Calculators that can be misused by chasing-loss behavior (Martingale simulators, etc.) carry explicit warnings.
If gambling is causing harm to you or someone you know, contact BeGambleAware, GamCare, Gambling Therapy, or NCPG.
