An Asian match goal total of 2.25 or 2.75 splits your stake equally between two neighboring lines at the same accepted odds. Over/Under 2.25 splits into 2.0 and 2.5; Over/Under 2.75 splits into 2.5 and 3.0. At the boundary, one half pushes while the other wins or loses, producing a half-win or half-loss.
This guide covers only a pre-match single bet on both teams’ combined goals in a completed match. Under the Pinnacle Soccer Betting Rules, Soccer §1, full-time means the scheduled 90 minutes plus stoppage time, excluding extra time and a penalty shootout unless the market states otherwise. Soccer Market Rules §14 specifies that a 2.75 total splits equally between 2.5 and 3.0 at the listed odds. The rules were checked on October 16, 2026; the page declares no revision number.
How the stake and payout are split
Each neighboring line receives exactly half the original stake. Throughout this guide, the hypothetical single bet is 100 units at decimal odds of 1.90, with both 50-unit halves settled at that same accepted price:
- Over 2.25: 50 on Over 2.0 and 50 on Over 2.5.
- Under 2.25: 50 on Under 2.0 and 50 on Under 2.5.
- Over 2.75: 50 on Over 2.5 and 50 on Over 3.0.
- Under 2.75: 50 on Under 2.5 and 50 on Under 3.0.
On a whole line, an exact match between the goal count and the line produces a push: that 50-unit half is returned without profit. On a half line, a push is impossible because a whole-number goal count cannot equal 2.5.
Gross return, also called payout here, includes the return from winning halves and any pushed halves. Net profit or loss = gross return − original stake. A positive net result is a profit; a negative result is a loss.
A winning half returns 50 × 1.90 = 95, including its original 50-unit stake. A full win therefore returns 190, for a net profit of +90; a full loss returns 0, for a net loss of −100. These are hypothetical odds, not a live quote, and none of these calculations requires rounding. For more on the distinction between payout and profit, see how betting odds work.
Payout table for all four selections
At a 100-unit stake and decimal odds of 1.90, the result depends on the selected direction, total line, and combined goal count during the covered period. Each cell shows gross return / net profit or loss, in units.
2.25
| Goals | Over | Under |
|---|---|---|
| 0–1 | 0 / −100 | 190 / +90 |
| 2 | 50 / −50 | 145 / +45 |
| 3 | 190 / +90 | 0 / −100 |
| 4+ | 190 / +90 | 0 / −100 |
2.75
| Goals | Over | Under |
|---|---|---|
| 0–1 | 0 / −100 | 190 / +90 |
| 2 | 0 / −100 | 190 / +90 |
| 3 | 145 / +45 | 50 / −50 |
| 4+ | 190 / +90 | 0 / −100 |
A 1–1 score and a 2–0 score both mean two total goals; 2–1 and 1–2 both mean three. How the goals are distributed between the teams does not change settlement of this market.
What happens at exactly two goals on 2.25?
With exactly two goals, Over 2.25 is a half-loss, while Under 2.25 is a half-win. The half on the 2.0 whole line pushes in both cases; the outcome of the half on 2.5 determines the difference.
Over 2.25: the 50 on Over 2.0 pushes, while the 50 on Over 2.5 loses.
Gross return = 0 + 50 = 50
Net result = 50 − 100 = −50
You lose half the original stake, not a quarter.

The calculator displays a $ currency symbol for this hypothetical 100-unit example; it is not a real bet or a bookmaker quote.
Under 2.25: the 50 on Under 2.0 pushes, while the 50 on Under 2.5 wins. The winning half returns 95, and the other 50 is returned without profit.
Gross return = 50 × 1.90 + 50 = 145
Net result = 145 − 100 = +45
This is a half-win: only half the original stake earns a profit.
What happens at exactly three goals on 2.75?
With exactly three goals, Over 2.75 is a half-win, while Under 2.75 is a half-loss. In both cases, the 50-unit half on the 3.0 whole line pushes.
Over 2.75: the 50 on Over 2.5 wins and returns 95, while the 50 on Over 3.0 is returned without profit.
Gross return = 50 × 1.90 + 50 = 145
Net result = 145 − 100 = +45
The net profit is 45, not 95: the gross return includes money from the original stake.
ToolsGambling Totals calculation for Over 2.75 with three goals: aggregate half-win, payout 145, and profit 45
Local ToolsGambling screenshot with hypothetical inputs: Over 2.75, three goals, Stake 100, and Odds 1.90. The neighboring lines are 2.5 and 3.0; the aggregate Result is a half-win, Payout is 145, and Profit is 45.
Under 2.75: the 50 on Under 2.5 loses, while the 50 on Under 3.0 pushes.
Gross return = 0 + 50 = 50
Net result = 50 − 100 = −50
Neither quarter line can produce a full-stake push solely because of the final goal count: the half on 2.5 must win or lose. Separate rules for voided events are a different matter.
How to check the result in ToolsGambling
Use the Totals (O/U) tab in the Asian handicap calculator to check the aggregate settlement for your chosen direction, line, odds, stake, and goal count.
- Open Totals (O/U).
- Click the Over or Under button.
- Enter
2.25or2.75in Total line. - Enter both teams’ combined goal count in Goals scored.
- Enter
1.90in Odds and100in Stake to reproduce these examples. - Check Result, Payout, and Profit, along with the neighboring lines shown.
Use decimal points in the numeric fields. The tab displays neighboring lines and the aggregate result—not separate statuses or monetary results for each half. To verify the half-stake accounting manually, split the stake into two amounts of 50 as shown above. To check the opposite direction, switch Over/Under to Under or Over as needed.
Before comparing a calculation with a settled bet, confirm the selection, line, accepted odds, covered period, and goal count against the accepted bet slip. An Asian goal total counts both teams’ combined goals; it is not a team’s Asian handicap. Do not extend this example to live bets, team totals, individual periods, corners, cards, or accumulators. Abandoned or interrupted matches require the applicable market’s separate rules, and other operators’ terms may differ.
The line alone does not establish implied probability, expected value, or whether a bet is worth placing. This calculation explains settlement, not a betting strategy.
