How Gravity Blackjack Works and Where Multipliers Apply

Gravity Blackjack is a blackjack variant with a main hand and separate side bets, each with its own paytable. After betting closes, a random multiplier applies to a side-bet payout—not to the main hand. You place your bets, receive your cards, choose your main-hand actions, and then the dealer completes the round and the bets are settled.

The rules below describe the specific configuration in the published Stake.us rules, checked on 7 October 2026. They should not be assumed to apply to every Gravity Blackjack table.

How a Round Works

The main hand follows blackjack rules: you make decisions based on your cards, while the dealer follows the table’s rules. Side bets are settled separately.

The Stake.us description specifies eight decks and replacement of the shoe when four decks remain. A shoe holds the cards used for dealing; the term itself does not imply that cards are shuffled after every hand.

In this configuration, the dealer stands on 17 or higher. You can hit, stand, double down on any two cards, or split a pair. When splitting Aces, each resulting hand receives only one additional card. These conditions appear in the Stake.us rules; check your chosen table for any other restrictions.

Main-Hand Actions and Payouts

A regular win pays 1:1, while a natural blackjack pays 3:2 in the published Stake.us configuration. A natural blackjack is a two-card hand totaling 21; reaching 21 with more than two cards is not a natural blackjack.

Insurance is a separate bet on the dealer having blackjack, not protection against any main-hand loss. The payouts and restrictions above come from the Stake.us rules and apply to the configuration described there.

The Four Side Bets and the Random Multiplier

The published Stake.us version of Gravity Blackjack has four side bets: Perfect Pairs, 21+3, Dealer Bust and Lucky Ladies. Each checks a separate combination or result and settles independently of the main hand without changing its result. Perfect Pairs checks for a pair in the player’s first two cards; 21+3 uses those cards plus the dealer’s upcard; Dealer Bust checks whether the dealer busts and how many cards are in the dealer’s hand; Lucky Ladies checks for a Queen or a total of 20 on the player’s first two cards. These descriptions apply to the published Stake.us version and may differ at another table.

The table summarizes the qualifying results and payout ranges published in the Stake.us rules for this version of the game (checked 2026-10-07). The ranges come from the source; they do not mean that every winning result receives the maximum payout. Check the exact paytable for your chosen table, as another version may differ.

For example, 21+3 uses the player’s first two cards and the dealer’s upcard, not any three cards from the round. The listed combinations and range endpoints come from this version of the rules; they were not independently calculated.

In the published Stake.us version, a random 2x/4x/6x/8x/10x multiplier may be assigned to one side bet after betting closes. If that bet wins, the multiplier increases its payout; it does not apply to the main hand. The advertised maximum of up to 3,000:1 applies only to the relevant combination and paytable, not to every winning bet. The Stake.us page lists payout ranges but does not publish the complete multiplier distribution.

The verified information does not include the multiplier distribution or the complete calculation model. A list of possible multipliers is therefore not enough to reconstruct RTP, and multiplying a published RTP figure by a multiplier would not be a valid calculation.

RTP: Why There Is No Single Verified Figure

The same Stake.us page lists two different main-game RTP figures: 98.43% in the game card and 99.29% in the rules description. The source does not resolve this inconsistency, so there is no basis for choosing either figure as correct or treating it as a universal Gravity Blackjack RTP.

Theoretical RTP describes long-run returns under a particular model. It is not the probability of winning a hand, nor a promise about the result of a session. The UK Gambling Commission explains theoretical RTP and variation in actual results, but that explanation does not establish the fairness of any individual game.

To verify the table you intend to play:

1. Open that table’s rules and its help or RTP information. Where the interface uses Help and RTP, look for those labels.
2. Check whether each figure applies to the main hand or a particular side bet.
3. Compare the number of decks, dealer rules, permitted actions and paytable.
4. If figures conflict within the description, treat the question as unresolved rather than choosing the more appealing number.

The 98.43%/99.29% inconsistency appears in the Stake.us source. Neither figure should be carried over to another table.

Side-Bet RTP and Expected Loss per 100 Units of Turnover

The published side-bet RTP figures support a conditional expected-loss calculation only when the configuration and paytable match the source.

The formula is:

Expected loss = 100 × (1 − RTP), with RTP expressed as a decimal.

The RTP figures come from the Stake.us rules section; the expected losses are independent arithmetic calculations. For example, Perfect Pairs gives 100 × (1 − 0.9595) = 4.05. This assumes the published RTP applies to the same bet and configuration. Results are displayed to two decimal places.

Turnover of 100 units means the total amount wagered, not necessarily 100 hands or 100 bets. The calculation represents long-run mathematical expectation, not the actual loss from a particular sequence. It does not establish profitability or identify the best bet for a player. Multipliers are not added separately: without a published model of their distribution, that adjustment would be unsupported.

How to Check a Main Hand with the ToolsGambling Strategy Tool

The blackjack strategy tool recommends a main-hand action for the rules you enter. It does not model side bets or multipliers, and it does not calculate their RTP.

Use it as follows:

1. First, open your chosen operator’s table rules. Check the number of decks, whether the dealer stands or hits on soft 17, doubling restrictions, surrender, double after split, dealer peek, and the natural blackjack payout.
2. Open the tool and select the confirmed values in the corresponding settings. If a rule is not published, do not treat an assumed setting as a verified fact.
3. Select your two cards and the dealer’s upcard.
4. Read the recommended action for that hand and those settings only.

The demonstration screenshot uses eight decks, stand on soft 17, double on any two cards, no surrender, a 3:2 blackjack payout, double after split off, and peek off. For K♠ + 6♥ against K♦, the tool displays Hit. These are demonstration settings, not confirmation of the rules at a Gravity Blackjack table.

The displayed action is a recommendation for the selected hand, not a promise of a win. Do not use the tool’s house edge figures for Gravity Blackjack unless all required table details have been confirmed. Main-hand basic strategy also says nothing about the value of the side bets.
